Drawing from 15 years of experience in London’s dynamic hospitality scene, founder Ria Thomas envisioned bringing sophisticated city dining to the heart of Earl Shilton. Social-Eyes Bistro represents the culmination of her expertise in hospitality and event management, combined with a deep understanding of creating memorable social experiences.
A significant life change in 2023 – the arrival of her first child – inspired Ria to return to her hometown of Leicester. This homecoming sparked a vision: to create a space that would blend urban sophistication with the warmth of local community.
Our Vision and Offerings
Stylish Bistro
Daytime service with breakfast, Lunch & Small Plates. Opening Thursday – Saturday evenings until 10pm
Available for Private Hire
Hosting private events, themed nights, community gatherings, workshops, and special occasions. Accommodates up to 30 guests seated or 45 standing.
Community Focus
Engaging local residents with events and partnerships, including OAP meet & greets, baby & toddler groups, and mindfulness workshops.
Our Menu Ideas
Espresso
A concentrated shot of coffee, often used as the base for other drinks.
Double Espresso
Two shots of espresso.
Americano
Espresso diluted with hot water.
Latte
Espresso with steamed milk and a layer of foam.
Cappuccino
Espresso with steamed milk and a thick layer of foam.
Mocha
Espresso with steamed milk, chocolate, and often topped with whipped cream.
Flat White
Espresso with microfoam (very fine milk foam).
English Breakfast Tea
A robust blend of black teas.
Earl Grey
Black tea with bergamot oil for a citrusy flavor.
Darjeeling
A delicate and aromatic black tea.
Chamomile
A caffeine-free herbal tea known for its calming properties.
Peppermint
A refreshing and invigorating herbal tea.
Green Tea
A light and refreshing tea with numerous health benefits.
Offer a variety of milk options: Dairy, soy, almond, oat, coconut, etc. Provide sugar and sweetener options: Granulated sugar, brown sugar, honey, stevia, etc. Consider seasonal offerings: Pumpkin Spice Latte in the fall, Gingerbread Latte during the holidays.
